Mar 05 International Spotlight: DJ Moodie Featuring Skinnyman + Thre – No Fire Without Smoke [From UK]

For his first official release since his ‘New York Beef’ mash-up on Nice Up! nearly two years ago, Moodie has enlisted the help of possibly the UKs most respected rapper, the legendary Skinnyman. Add to that the raw, lyrical energy of MC Thr3 and you have got one hell of a track.

UK Hip Hop lynch pin Skinnyman needs no introduction. Best known for his award winning ‘Council Estate of Mind’ album, Skinny consistently raises the bar with his conscious lyrics and formidable flows. One of a number of collaborations between Moodie and Skinnyman ‘No Fire Without Smoke’ sees them both on top form.

‘Built From Scratch’ is Moodie’s second feature length CD, after he dropped ‘Construction Skillz’ in 2005. Construction Skillz’ was critically acclaimed and rated as one of the best UK Hip Hop compilations of it’s era. It featured many of UK Hip Hops elite artists such as Roots Manuva, Skinnyman, Task force, Braintax and Rabai Shlomo (The Human Beatboxer) and many many more.

4 years later and DJ Moodie may have even surpassed himself with a line up of truly epic proportions. The CD boasts a track listing that includes The Foreign Beggars, Roots Manuva, Plan B, Skinnyman,  Graziella (Miss Frank) and even the legendary Lee Scratch Perry to name but a few. There really are some massive names in world music on this record. This is UK Hop Hop at it’s best!
