I was recently prompted to write an article to tell people why they should listen to my music

being that I am a “new” artist. You know…how people don’t want to click on a link when they don’t see a name they know? Why, yes I do. You see, I am one of the many people from around the globe that was born with an artistic ability. Only I was blessed with more than one. All in all, though, I am an Artist. Capitalized because it is also my profession. I don’t have time to run down the resume, so you can check that on your own time. Trust me, it’s all there. I come to you today as an “Indie” Artist. You know…the guys that “aren’t good enough” to “get a deal” (whatever that means…). Anyhow, I’d like to begin by telling you why NOT to listen to my music in order to save us both the frustration:
1. Do not listen to my music if (in your opinion) my content is “not real” because I haven’t
sold twenty keys by the second verse or killed some people in my songs.
2. Do not listen to my music if (in your opinion) I am not a “real mc” because I’m not co-
signed by your favorite DJ and/or rap artist or blog.
3. Do not listen to my music if you are in the habit of ignoring “those local guys”.

I find these reasons irrelevant because it has been common knowledge for quite some time that the elusive “industry” is all smoke and mirrors. Magicians bore me. That’s just my opinion. I’m not asking anyone to accept or condone it. The only reason I did come up with, though, was this:
Listen to my music if you don’t mind hearing a guy tell you his real life story and thoughts
arranged in a musical form.
Artists don’t stop being artists. So you can pass me over, ignore me, bash me, criticize me and doubt me all you want to but it will only make me yell louder. It will only feed my desire tocreate new and better works of art. Just to put it in your face again.
Sincerely yours,
