Video: Audra The Rapper, STS x Emilio Rojas At SOBs in NYC

Written by Rahim The Dream. Posted in EVENTS, Videos

I stopped by SOBs for a few hours last night and caught up with Audra the Rapper, STS and Emilio RojasLowKey was hosting and Meka was on the wheels.  It’s not the whole show, because I dipped before Phil Ade got on, but you can get a feel for how the night was.

Audra talks about her experience at SOBs and how she prepares for a show.  I learned that STS is a pretty funny dude, and that there are grown men that play with dolls in public.  Just watch it, and be sure to hit that HD button.

GEDC0102 EVENTS : Mama Imma Make It : Part II (Recap)

Julian Stephen Performing...

I , Cole went to Club Rebel to check out the Mama I’mma Make It Series at Club Rebel. This is the second showcase that Samantha Alexandra and Derrick Swerve have hosted and it was a success! Club Rebel was packed out as people came to see all the underground talent, familiar and non-familiar to them. For some it was their first time coming to a showcase of this sort. People lined up for the open mic acts, for example Conley P. Many said his performance was well done. The opening performances happened at 9pm. Kris Kasanova, Lyriciss, Dante, Kayla Bliss, Karolina, Julian Stephen, Niyre, Matt the Violinist, Essence Michea and M@RV3LOU$ took over the stage. The performances that stood out the most to me was Julian Stephen, Kris Kasanova, Lyriciss, Dante and Kayla Bliss. People need to really get familiar with Kayla Bliss. A lot will love her sound and what she has to offer in terms of the R&B game. Kris Kasanova has been one of my all time favorites and now after experiencing him live, it was more awesome. Lyriciss brought out L.A and Sammie Aye to do “Great Walls of China” off of L.A.’s album, The L.A. Riots. It was a show worth going to and checking out. It was Samantha’s birthday, so Ari bought her a cake and Denzil Porter surprised her with a performance! Afterwards there was a dance party where everyone enjoyed themselves.

Mama Imma Make It is a positive movement and you all should try to come out to the next one. This Is The Dream promotes dreams being fulfilled and it’s always in our dreams to tell our moms, “Mama I Made It.”

Well that’s all I have to say for now. Until next time.

Believe. Have Faith. Achieve Your Dream.

dunk EVENTS: This Is The Dream Presents : Dunk Exchange 2011

On Saturday, I went to Dunk Exchange and I can tell you it was worth it. The variety of kicks and clothes and people were trading kicks, buying new pairs and having fun. We got to see up and coming artists perform and Juelz Santana was the headliner. The place was a zoo. Lowkey from You Heard That New was one of the co-hosts and Meka from 2Dopeboyz was handling the turntables. We caught Juelz, Rich P,G-Two and others and we also got a chance to let people show off their new kicks and also look at an array from Deadstock Ric and his team. Check it out and performances will be coming soon. We would like to thank DY Visuals for capturing some of these moments for us. Will we back there again? Yes we will. Check it out.
